10 Top Foods To Eat For Killer Abs

10 Top Foods To Eat For Killer Abs

It is believed that abs are made in the kitchen, not in the gym. So if you are trying to lose weight and get those killer abs, remember it’s 30% Gym and 70% Diet!
Here is a list of 1o Top foods to eat for killer abs. These will act as fat burners and give your body a turbo-boost ( in the most natural way possible) to help you get to-die-for toned, tight abs.

I’m sure you weren’t expecting Nuts to be on the top of this list. But, nuts are known to be extremely rich in what we call ‘good’ fats, especially brazil nuts, almonds, walnuts, peanuts and pistachios. Nuts also make for a perfect snack and they are easy to carry around while you’re on the go.
There are times in the day when you start feeling peckish, so when that happens, eat a couple of nuts and that will fill you up and help fight cravings.

Olive Oil

When trying to lose weight and build muscle, it is crucial that you pay attention to the oil you are using in your diet – be that for cooking or for salad dressings.
Olive oil is the best option as it promotes burning of fat in your body and also reduces cholesterol. Pretty much a win-win situation as it benefits the heart too.

A powerhouse of protein, eggs are perfect for breakfast. People who eat eggs after their workouts or in the morning say that they feel less hungry throughout the day. Eggs stop lean muscles from breaking down and because they are rich in vitamin B12, they have the reverse effect on the fat cells. Being rich in Vitamin B also means that eggs will provide you with energy throughout the day.
Having said that, if you’re worried about cholesterol, simply eat the egg whites and leave out egg yolks from your diet.

Whole Grains

When you are exercising and watching your diet at the same time, it is important to give your body some carbohydrates. We usually think carbohydrates should be cut-out from our diet when trying to get lean, but we need to understand our body needs a fine balance of carbs, fat and protein in every meal, so don’t cut down on carbs completely.
What you ideally need to do is stop having processed carbs such as white rice, pasta and white bread. Instead, include unprocessed whole grain and fibre-rich food like wholegrain rice, pasta, cereal and bread as they stop your body from storing extra fat.

Lean Poultry

Meats like pork, chicken, beef and turkey are full of protein, so excellent foods for getting abs. These lean meats not only help strengthen your immune system, they also help build muscle. Just be sure to buy good quality meat (organic and free-range are the best options) and always look for lean cuts.

Oily Fish

Oily fish is another amazing and delicious food for getting a flat stomach. Salmon is a great option, but you can also have other fatty fish like tuna and mackerel. These fish are rich in Omega 3 Fatty Acids and help the body to burn more fat.
Research also shows that those who consume a lot of seafood have better glucose and insulin responses, meaning they feel less peckish/hungry after they have eaten food.
Oily fish also protects the immune system, which means you can exercise more without ever feeling ill or run down. The ideal consumption of oily fish is 3 portions a week.

Fat-free Dairy

Watching your diet does not mean you cannot eat cheese anymore. You should include dairy products like cheese, yogurt and milk in your diet – just be sure you have the fat-free or low-fat varieties. Dairy products help to strengthen bones and fire-up the weight loss.

Legumes and beans are fantastic for your body. Include chickpeas, beans, lentils and peas into your diet as these are magic bullets for your system.
Most beans and legumes are rich in dietary fibre, iron and protein, so great for the digestive system as well. Just be sure to soak them in water before you cook and also cook them properly so that your system can break down the proteins and your stomach can digest it well.

Green Vegetables

Our grandmothers and mothers have always told us to eat our greens and for good reason! Leafy greens mean fewer calories and loads of nutrition as they provide you with lots of energy.

Include leafy vegetables like lettuce, kale, broccoli and spinach in your diet as they have fat-burning fibres and are packed with minerals and vitamins.

Apples, berries, bananas, cherries and blueberries are excellent fruit options for those who want a flat stomach or killer abs. These work wonderfully as a substitute for sweet treats and are also rich in fibre as well as anti-oxidants.

So those were my recommendations for the best foods to get killer abs. Don’t forget to leave a comment telling me your favourite food for a getting killer abs and a flat tummy. Stay healthy!
