Review | Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation

If you follow me on Social Media you’ll know that I recently discovered a foundation that has become my ‘Love of Life’!

I’ve been raving about the Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation and this post has been highly highly requested, so here’s my review and thoughts on the foundation.

Review | Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation

I picked up Fit Me on a whim while I was online shopping and I trust me I have not looked back since! I picked up a couple of drugstore foundations, but I reach for Fit Me more than any of the others. I am in the shade 128 Warm Nude (Beige Chaud).

Maybelline’s Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation is a lightweight formula that claims to mattify skin and refine pores. It is targeted at those with normal – oily skin. If you love a seamless, natural finish, then this is for you!

Review | Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation

I have combination skin, with my cheeks being oily and the rest of my face being dry, and so I’m always on the hunt for a foundation that is neither too dewy nor flat matte … and the Fit Me ‘fit’ that bill to a T!

To tell you a little more about my skin, I have very sensitive, acne-prone skin and I get the occasional break outs, but nothing severe. I am also recovering from a very bad phase of adult acne, which means that I have quite a bit of scarring and dark spots on my face, so I gravitate towards medium to full-coverage foundations that are also long-lasting. Too much to ask?!

Long story short – I was a little skeptical because I didn’t know how matte (read drying) this would be), how long it would last or if it would break me out. So I watched a lot of reviews online and decided to finally go to a Maybelline counter and look at the formula in person. The consistency of this product is quite thin and light (not watery though) and even then the performance is INCREDIBLE.

Formula

Review | Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation

Like I said, Fit Me is quite thin in texture, so very lightweight. I posted a picture of myself on Instagram wearing this foundation and tagged it saying ‘Foundation that feels like Second Skin’ and that’s exactly how this feels – like second skin. It’s a matte formula, yet not super dupe flat matte (which I love!) and I feel it fills my pores quite nicely, giving my skin a very even texture.

In terms of coverage, I feel one light layer will give you medium coverage and will cover redness, but you need at least two layers (thin ones!) to reach full-coverage. I usually use one thin layer and go in with a little more ONLY in my problem areas, much like I would with a concealer.

Staying Power

I would say this has good staying power, considering the consistency. It lasts on me for a good 8-10 hours without separating or creasing. I also felt that it controlled the oiliness in my cheek area and it didn’t transfer at all… so a massive thumbs up for that!

This is how the foundation looks on my skin after 6-7 hours of wear! <3

Application

I personally prefer to use a beauty blender when I want a flawless base and this applies beautifully with a beauty blender. I’ve also used a duo-fibre Sigma brush to apply this foundation and that definitely gave me a more sheer coverage, great for days when I want a more natural look.

Having said that, I feel this foundation is so light that you will get a beautiful finish even if you just used your fingers to apply it.

Price

Rs. 525/- for 30 ml.

That price is blimmin’ good! Let me just go all out and say this – You will NOT find a better drugstore foundation! Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless is as good as it can get <3

Packaging

Review | Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation

Now this is my only complaint with the foundation – the bloody packaging. I really like my foundations to be in a pump bottle and sadly Maybelline Fit Me does not have one 🙁

If you buy the Fit Me  foundation, be prepared to have a really mucky bottle in a few uses, because it gets everywhere. If I ignore that part, its a pretty standard packaging – a glass bottle with a black screw cap lid.

Final Thoughts

I LOOOOVE IT!

Apart from the no-pump business, I love everything about this foundation. The price is unbeatable, the formula is one of the best I’ve ever tried and it blends like a frikkin DREAM!

The Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless ticks all boxes for me. If I’m really honest, I think this performs just as well (if not better) than a lot of higher-end foundations.

Have you tried the Fit Me line? Are you a fan? Let me know in the comments below…I love to hear from you <3

Until we meet next,
xoxo

I actually haven’t heard a great deal about this foundation before, it definitely sounds like one of those undiscovered gems! I wouldn’t have thought it’d feel so lightweight with the coverage, but that’s amazing! Your skin looks flawless 🙂 xx

      Thank you so much!
This foundation did sound too good to be true when I read reviews, but then I used it and it is fantastic!
The coverage is medium to light and it’s super lightweight. I don’t even feel like I’m wearing a full coverage foundation. You should give it a try, I think you’ll love it <3

Three years later and you are still on the first page of Google results when I search for this foundation. 🙂 I’m 47 years old and and have been looking for the perfect non-oily foundation for literally decades. Lucky me I found 3 in the last year: Too Faced Peach Perfect, Urban Decay Stay Naked, and this one, which has been at my chemist all along and I never bothered to look at it–more fool me! I really appreciate its non-dry matteness, and when it does fade, it fades with dignity–not disintegrating into sludge and pooling in my pores like most other foundations. Plus it’s relatively cheap. I see on the USA Maybelline website that this now comes in a soft plastic pouch, so no more chunky glass bottle to drip and get messy. Hopefully this is introduced in other parts of the world soon. Thanks again for guiding me with this excellent review.

      Hi Alexandra,
It’s always so nice to connect with readers, so a big thank you for stopping by 🙂
You won’t believe, I still use this foundation and love it just as much!
Maybelline India now has small size plastic squeeze tubes for this foundation that are perfect for travelling and carrying in the handbag.
I’m surely going to try out the other two foundations you mentioned.
Have a great day and stay safe 🙂
