Kuala Lumpur is a vibrant melting pot of cultures, cuisines, and skyscrapers—and our first trip to this energetic city was nothing short of exciting. We had the pleasure of staying at Mercure Kuala Lumpur Shaw Parade, and it truly made our KL experience even more memorable.
Did you know this was the first Mercure hotel to open in Malaysia? Part of the globally renowned Accor group, Mercure Shaw Parade strikes the perfect balance between comfort, style, and sustainability.

Location
Getting here is a breeze—it took us around 40–50 minutes by cab from the airport. The hotel is tucked away in a relatively peaceful neighborhood, offering a calm retreat while being just a stone’s throw from the buzz of Bukit Bintang and KLCC.
The Suite Life
We stayed in a suite, and if you’re booking a privilege room or suite, here’s the best part: a fully stocked complimentary minibar awaits you! Yes, stocked daily and included in your stay. The views from our room were stunning—sweeping vistas of the KL skyline, especially beautiful during golden hour.

Upon checking into our room, we were greeted with beautifully curated goodie baskets — an indulgent spread of artisanal local snacks, fresh seasonal fruits, a decadent pie, and a selection of complimentary drinks. It was such a refined and thoughtful gesture that set the tone for a wonderful stay.

The suite itself was spacious and thoughtfully laid out. You get a comfortable queen bed that makes sinking in after a long day feel like a dream, along with a generously sized living room complete with plush sofas and a dedicated work desk—perfect whether you’re unwinding or catching up on emails.
Comfort & Amenities

Our room was incredibly comfortable and felt truly luxurious. Small touches like a coffee machine, two international plug points, and thoughtful toiletries made a huge difference. We also loved that the hotel is committed to reducing plastic waste—each room is equipped with its own water filter, which was a refreshing touch (pun intended!).
Food & Drinks
We ended up eating several meals at the hotel and were pleasantly surprised by the quality—the Hawaiian pizza was a standout. Breakfast was lavish, with local favourites like Teh Tarik, Nasi Lemak, and steamed buns on offer. It’s the perfect way to explore Malaysian flavours without leaving your hotel.

There’s also a Starbucks kiosk in the lobby for your daily caffeine fix, but our favourite hangout spot was definitely the Rooftop Pool and Bar. Every evening, we found ourselves unwinding by the pool with a drink in hand. The bar has a great selection of cocktails, and you can also order burgers or pizzas poolside—a chilled-out vibe we absolutely loved.

And for those looking to stay on track with workouts, the fully functional gym on the 20th floor offers panoramic city views while you sweat it out.
Views That Stay With You

The lobby landings on the higher floors offer some of the best views in town. You can spot the Petronas Towers, KL Tower, and Menara, though not all in the same frame—it’s still a treat for skyline lovers.
Final Word
From top-notch service to thoughtful amenities and a great location, Mercure Kuala Lumpur Shaw Parade delivers an experience rooted in comfort and class. What truly stood out was the unparalleled hospitality—warm, attentive, and always one step ahead. If you’re visiting Kuala Lumpur and looking for a hotel that offers both value and vibes, this one checks all the boxes.
