The Covid-19 health crisis is affecting the entire world and governments are working hard to control the spread of the virus, although there is still no sign of a cure. Therefore, like many other countries around the world, we have been practicing social distancing for weeks now and the world as we know it feels long gone. It is important to remember that thing will get better and eventually we will be able to return to our normal lives.
In the meantime, aside from being safe and not letting your guard down, a fun activity that can help you keep a positive mindset is to make plans (even if just in your head!) and think about all of the things you’ll want to do once this nightmare is over.
Here are 5 ideas to celebrate life and going back to normal:
1. Take a relaxing trip
When we will finally be allowed back on planes, taking a trip will refresh your mind. As of now, doing research and planning out your itinerary can be quite therapeutic and a very fun pastime. After this stressful and scary period, a relaxing trip could be just what you need. Consider visiting a place like Iceland, a magical island, nothing like you’ve ever seen before. You could even treat yourself to one of the Blue Lagoon packages for day visits and have a truly unique spa experience.
2. Go on a shopping spree
At some point, even shopping online becomes a bit annoying. You make orders of items without being able to see them, touch them nor try them on and at some point, you find yourself just longing for that in-store experience. So, when stores will reopen and we will have the luxury of going to the mall again or going for a stroll on shop-lined streets, indulge and let yourself have something you’ve been eyeing for a bit.
3. Organise a get-together with friends and family
Having spent a long time without seeing your friends and family members, it’s more than fair to want to spend time with them and celebrate life together. Thinking about seeing family and friends and the things you’d like to do together, is a great way to connect with your loved ones and will also give them something to look forward to.
4. Hit the gym or your favourite workout class
To all of the gym rats and fitness-aficionados out there, boy must you be missing your exercise routine right now! Although surely, you’ve managed to recreate a routine at home, once the lockdown will be lifted and gyms will be open again, you should definitely treat yourself to a new course. If you don’t want to experiment something new, you could always treat yourself to some new athletic wear.
5. Enjoying nature and the outdoors
After the confinement, I bet you miss the fresh air and nature in general. Celebrate your newfound freedom with an outdoor adventure like a hike, a swim or visiting national parks.
During a tough time like this, it’s crucial to your health to keep a positive mindset! One of the best ways is to keep your mind busy with happy thoughts, like all of the wonderful things to look forward after the pandemic.
