We met with our tour guide Jean-François at the Petit Palais and the minute I saw the bright pink 2CV pull up in front of us, I squealed with joy! He has such a sweet and charming personality and was always smiling and eager to tell us all he knew about this magical city.

 

 

 

What we loved most about the tour was the fact that we not only got to see almost all the top attractions like Champs-Elysées, Arc de Triomphe, Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, etc. in a very short span of time but also got too see some hidden gems like the Lavirotte building, an amazing art nouveau style building.

And then there was this marvellous lane, below the street level, on the banks of the river Seine. It was so calm and peaceful that you almost don’t believe that you are actually just a stone throw distance away from all the hustle and bustle of the Notre Dame.

 

 

We did get stuck in a bit of a traffic but thankfully the car is so small that it was very easy for our guide to manoeuvre it through gaps and zip it through the traffic.

 

We had the most romantic time roaming around in this open roof retro car gazing at the marvels of the city of lights, but what really made this tour special and personal for us were the stories and the anecdotes which we got to hear. And it’s these small things which perhaps would stay with us as beautiful memories to cherish for life.
