SOROCI Fucoidan Peeling and Soothing Facial Pads | REVIEW

There’s something about using pre-soaked facial pads that gives me so much joy… Please tell me I’m not the only one! šŸ˜‚

I was recently sent these Fucoidan Facial Pads by Soroci, which is a Korean skincare brand. It’s a 2 step process, wherein the 1st step is to use the SOROCI Fucoidan Peeling Pad, followed by Step 2 – the SOROCI Fucoidan Soothing Pad.

Now I know you must be wondering- What isĀ Fucoidan?Ā Well,Ā based on scientificĀ research, “Fucoidans occur naturally in the cell walls of brown seaweeds. They function to protect the plant from water-borne pathogens and other environmental challenges. Fucoidans are long chain polysaccharides characterised by a complex molecular structure and varying degrees of sulfation and acetylation.”

So how doesĀ FucoidanĀ play a role in skincare? Well, it is believed that this ingredient helps to slow down signs of ageing, helps skin cells regenerate faster and also helps to speed up the skin’s recovery process. Not just that,Ā Fucoidan acts as a PHA and helps to minimise sun spots and therefore helps to fade skin pigmentation. It also removes sebum and keratin from the skin’s surface, giving your skin that smooth texture and glow.

Now on to the review! Let’s start with the packaging – how pretty is that Pink & Blue together?! Two of my favourite colours šŸ˜Ā There areĀ two jars in the cardboard box along with a small tong that you can use to grab the pads (so no digging your fingernails in the product people šŸ˜–)

I love how there’s a protective lid inside the jars to make sure the pads are not exposed to air in case you forget to shut the lid tight enough. Another big love factor for me was the SCENT – both pads have a very mild, soothing, herbal scent to them. It’s a mix of citrus and green tea almost! There are 35 pads each in the two jars, so 70 pads in total.

Step 1 is the SOROCIĀ FucoidanĀ Peeling Pad and as the name suggests these are exfoliating pads formulated with PHA to gently slough off dead skin. These pads are embossed, so that little bit of texture will also help to exfoliate your skin. I would say these pads are best suited for someone with oily to combination skin.

Personally, these didn’t ‘WOW’ me … but, I’d have to say that when I used them in my morning routine, they left my skin feeling fresh and mildly hydrated. I also felt that my makeup went on a lot better on days I used this, so if I had to rate it, I’d say this is a 3/5 for me.

Step 2 is theĀ SOROCIĀ FucoidanĀ Soothing Pads, and my personal favourite šŸ˜ As you can see in the pictures, these pads have no embossing on them and they are slightly yellow-ish in colour. It’s absolutely smooth and soaked in essence. Some noteworthy ingredients here are Propolis and Algae.
