When it comes to skincare, Japanese brands are one of my favourite and if I had to recommend one brand, I would say try Shiseido. I love their Ibuki Beauty Sleeping Mask and will be sharing a mini review for the same today…so let’s jump right in!
‘Ibuki’ in Japanese means inner strength and so this skincare range aims at strengthening the moisture balance in your skin to give you radiant, supple and dewy skin. Products in the Shiseido Ibuki line are targeted towards providing maximum hydration and correcting imperfections like texture, roughness and dryness in your skin. My top recommendation from this range would be the Ibuki Sleeping Mask, it is MAGIC in a jar!
I adore the texture of this overnight sleeping mask. As you can see in the pictures, it is a gel-like texture with small vitamin capsules that burst as you apply the mask and melt into your skin on application. The best way to describe this texture would be gel to water.
The Shiseido Ibuki Sleeping Mask has the goodness of Vitamin E and C to give you brighter, clearer skin. It also has PhytoPlankton Extract that helps to revitalize the skin and give you a glow, while the PhytoTarget Complex enhances the natural moisture from within the skin .
The formula is non-sticky and non-greasy, so this would be a great product for even those of you with oily or combination skin, or for people who live in a humid climate.
I also really like the packaging and the fact that it comes with a spatula to scoop out product from the jar. I use a pea sized amount for my face and neck and since the texture is so light and slippy, you don’t need very much of the product.
The one thing I would like to point out however, is that the Shiseido Ibuki Sleeping Mask has fragrance. The scent is not overpowering though and I personally like it a lot – it has a violet scent that is very relaxing, like you are in a spa 🙂 But, if you are someone who is sensitive to fragrance in skincare, then be wary of this product.
If you’re on the hunt for a sleeping/ overnight mask, I highly recommend that you try it out. I use it 1-2 times a week with my Skin & Rituals Rose Quartz Roller and my skin feels so plump, smooth and glowy the next morning. I also feel that this would work wonderfully as a night time moisturiser for those with very dry, dehydrated skin.
Have you tried the Shiseido Ibuki Sleeping Mask? I’d love to hear your thoughts on it!
Please can I ask, where you get this product from? I got given this sleep mask as a gift 2 years ago, I even bought it for a family member as I loved it so much. But now I can’t find it anywhere nor can I find it online.
Hi Mikaela,
I think this mask has been discontinued 🙁
Even I have tried to find it online, but couldn’t get a link. Maybe try looking for it in a Shiseido store or counter?
Hope you find it ❤️
