Pixi Glow Tonic | First Impressions

Pixi Glow Tonic | First Impressions

If anything can catch a beauty bloggers attention, it is the words GLOW TONIC and I think that’s where Pixi won half the battle with this product! I’ve used and tested tons of toners in the last couple of years, but it’s only recently that I’ve started to explore the wonderful world of Exfoliating Toners… and I must say, we are off to a good start with the Pixi Glow Tonic!

What is the Pixi Glow Tonic?

It is a gentle exfoliating toner that contains 5% Glycolic Acid (an AHA) and promises to purify and brighten the skin. It helps to reveal glowing, healthy skin by removing dead skin cells, thereby also smoothening and refining the texture of your skin. The Pixi Glow Tonic is a hypoallergenic formula that is made using botanical extracts like ginseng to energise the skin and aloe vera to help soothe irritated and sensitive skin.

My First Thoughts and Reaction

For some, the 5% Glycolic Acid in Pixi Glow Tonic may sound harsh, and don’t get me wrong – it might even be so for people who are just starting out with acid toners, BUT, if you are someone who reacts well to chemical and acid exfoliation, you will love this product… I do!

This is my first time using a glycolic acid toner and so I was a bit nervous the first time I used it as I was expecting it to burn. But, to be honest, all I felt was a tiny little bit of tingling (the tiniest bit) around my nose and on my chin, where I have the most congested skin. The tingling lasted 10 seconds!

I’ve used this a few times, so I won’t go into too many details…hence, a First Impression 🙂 Do I feel and see a difference in my skin? Yes, a little bit.

I’ll continue using this product as I really enjoy how this feels on my skin and I’ll come back with a full-blown review in a few weeks time…until then, leave me a comment below telling me if you’ve ever tried the Pixi Glow Tonic and how you got along with it.

      Hi Karalee,

I’ll surely be doing a detailed review on this.

So far, it’s made my skin feel very soft the morning after I’ve used it and even though its an exfoliating toner, it is very hydrating 🙂

      Hi!
I would highly recommend trying it out if you like AHA’s. It’s actually quite mild and hydrating 🙂
      Thanks for dropping by!

I haven’t gotten to try this Pixi toner just yet but I hear so many good things about it. 5% glycolic acid does seem like a bit much to me but who knows.

      Hi Mika,

If you’ve used any kind of acid exfoliation before and if your skin likes them, you’ll love the Pixi Glow Tonic 🙂

The 5% sounds like a lot, but it’s actually very mild and hydrating too <3

Let me know how you get along with it!

I am planning to buy this one but not sure if it would be too strong for me. I used the Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop n it broke me out. I even tried using it alternate days so that my skin gets used to it but I broke out again. Can you please help me in understanding if & what I am doing wrong here.

      Hi Snehal,
Thank you so much for dropping by and my apologies for such a late reply… for some reason your comment landed in the spam folder 🙁
Ok, to address your questions – Pixi Glow Tonic is not a harsh or potent product, provided you use it wisely. If you have sensitive skin or are new to acid toners, I would recommend using it every other day or even start by using it only twice a week (ONLY AT NIGHT). Follow up with a good 30+ SPF in your morning routine to avoid sun damage as AHA/BHA make your skin more sensitive to the sun.
Coming on to the Klairs Vitamin Drops, please let me know exactly how you’re using them and in what stage in your skincare routine because that will help me guide you better 🙂
      Hope I’ve covered everything!
      Love,
      Ankita
