Where to Stay in Salzburg? – H+ Hotel, Our Thoughts and Review

We love to travel by trains in Europe, it’s not only cheap and convenient, but also an excellent platform to make social contact with locals and fellow tourists. While planning for a holiday the most challenging task is to finalize a good hotel and more often than not we try to find a place that is near to the station and also not too far from the city centre. Having said that, the sad part is the hotels which are near to the main station are either too pricey or too shady, but in Salzburg, we found the perfect place to base ourselves for a good 3 days.

H+ Hotel, Salzburg

H+ Hotel in Salzburg is literally a stone throw away from the main train and bus station, so you are at the centre of the public transport system which means you are just a few stops away from the Mirabel Gardens, City Centre and all the other attractions… so, that takes care of your daily transport worries… now coming on to comfort, because of its location you may think that it must get a bit noisy (we also had the same thoughts running in our heads), but not even once during our entire stay did we hear any traffic or noise from the train station.

H+ Hotel… a stone throw away from the station!

There is a Starbucks right next to the hotel, which takes care of your daily dose of caffeine. There’s also a Burger King and McDonald’s in case you are planning of no-brainer comfort meal any time of the day and apart from that, the Hotel restaurant offers great breakfast options with stunning views of the city.

The staff was extremely polite, welcoming and helpful. As we were arriving a bit early we had emailed them a request for an early check-in, which was honoured very promptly. There is a cute little coffee/beer bar right next to the reception, so you are never too far away from the local treasure called Stiegl.

There’s nothing quite like a comfy bed when you’re away from home! <3

Even though the room was small, we had a lot of space to keep our things 🙂

The check-in process was smooth and the room and bathroom were neat and fresh. The bed was very comfortable, the room had adequate lighting and the hotel overall had a modern feel to it (there is even a small, but well-equipped gym).

The room was a little small, but very well designed and convenient. There was free internet which worked just fine for us. The only thing which we missed was an electric kettle which comes in really handy for travellers who love to have their green tea every now and then, but that said, the staff did help us by providing some hot water in a thermos whenever we wanted it.

[…] We arrived from Munich at around noon and straight away went to the tourist information centre to pick up our Salzburg Cards. From there on went to the H+ Hotel, our home for next 4 days, which was literally a stone throw away from the Railway station. You can read more about our stay at the H+ Hotel HERE. […]
