Manfrotto Compact Action Tripod | Review

Manfrotto Compact Action Tripod | Review

We have been blogging about our travel stories for a while, but never owned a tripod up until recently because we never felt the need for one…. or let’s just say the pictures we took didn’t require us to use one.  Tripod is an equipment that is generally ignored by beginners because of its sheer size and a lot of beginners do own a tripod because it comes free with the camera as some sort of store promotion, however, these are really flimsy (more often than not) and end up in the attic or shoved at the back of some cupboard.

Its only recently that we started to experiment with night and long exposure photography and that is when we felt the real need for a tripod, but we wanted something light and portable and at the same time didn’t want invest too much money…so ended up buying a cheap portable tripod which literally lasted us just a week on our last trip to Germany. I think that was our lesson learned (the hard way!) and something that made us research really good before we bought a new tripod and we finally settled for the Manfrotto Compact Action Tripod. We have been using it for almost 3 months and we feel it is one of our best investments!

The tripod is compact, only about 18 inches when collapsed, and expands to around 65 inches, which is actually more than you can ask for from a portable tripod. It looks stylish and has high-quality aluminium built along with a pistol grip head which gives a very smooth action. What we like the most about it is that even though it is portable and light, it is still exceptionally sturdy and durable. Though, keep in mind that you use it for lightweight cameras.

Another thing we love about this tripod is that you don’t have to totally undo the mount from the camera to change memory cards or batteries like you do with other tripods. It connects to the camera with a button-like connector that doesn’t cover the memory card/battery compartment.

In our opinion, if you like travel photography and are in need of a compact yet sturdy tripod this won’t disappoint you at all. The tripod is available online and you can buy it from Amazon as well as check its specifications and reviews in detail.
