Citadines Arnulfpark Munich | Review

As someone who loves to travel and plan holidays DIY style, we believe that a hotel’s location can either make or break our entire trip, and so when we are planning ahead for travel we always work diligently on our hotel research to find the perfect location that has a) good connectivity, b) is affordable, yet c) Comfortable!

On our most recent holiday to Europe, we had Munich as our first stop and this was one place we deliberated long and hard before we made the final decision on the hotel we would stay at. We personally like hotels that provide good connectivity to major city attractions, that have basic facilities and also ones that provide a kitchenette and that is where Citadines fit the bill to a T! To add to that the location was great – just a stone throw away from  Augustiner Keller,  the legendary beer garden and  ZOB, the central bus station. The tram stop is literally just outside the hotel door and the city center just a few stops away, so full marks as far as the location is concerned.

View from the Window <3

Citadines Arnulfpark is a simple and basic service apartment, so we weren’t greeted with a welcome drink or anything fancy, but the lobby was cosy and beautiful. The hotel itself we found to be very neat and clean, the rooms are spacious and well equipped and even though it is on the main road it’s very quiet with absolutely no sound or disturbance creeping in through the windows.

Coming on to the check-in experience, it was quick and friendly (language is definitely not a problem because almost everyone understands and speaks English.

Loved the Comfy Bed!

The room we were in had a beautiful view and we loved everything about it – the bed was large and super comfortable, the kitchenette was fully equipped (with a stove, microwave, kettle and cutlery all included), the bathroom was pretty small and basic, but very clean and we had pretty much everything we needed…well, apart from two things, dental kits and slippers (but I’m sure we could have called housekeeping and requested for those). Another thing to keep in mind is that this is an apartment hotel, so there is no housekeeping service, until and unless you are booked in for more than 4-5 nights.

As for other amenities, the hotel has a laundry room in the basement, so great if you intend to wash clothes while you’re there. They also serve a full European style breakfast at a decent charge and there is a coffee + tea machine in the lobby area where you can sit and drink tea/coffee anytime after breakfast hours.

All in all, a great experience and so we would highly recommend you check out Citadines Arnulfpark for your stay when in Munich.
