Stir Fry Chilli Tofu | Recipe

Whoever said Tofu is boring and bland never really experimented with it!

Tofu is such a wonderful and versatile item to add to your diet, especially if you’re on the lookout for a meat substitute. If you’ve never tried tofu before, I urge you to, because trust me you will fall in love with it.

Today I’m sharing with you a very simple and healthy Stir Fry Chilli Tofu Recipe. So let’s jump right in:

Ingredients

  • 200 grams Tofu
  • 1 large red onion
  • 1 large green capsicum
  • 1 large red capsicum
  • Broccoli
  • 2 stalks spring onion, diagonally sliced
  • 6-8 cloves of garlic, crushed
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp vinegar
  • 2 green chillies, diagonally sliced
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • Coriander, finely chopped

Method

  • Wash the tofu, cut in cubes and soak it in a bowl of water while you are chopping the rest of the ingredients.
  • Begin by chopping the onion and capsicum. I like to have thicker chunks of red onion and capsicum in my stir fry, but you could also cut them in strips if you prefer that.
  • Heat the olive oil in a pan, add the crushed garlic and onions to it. Sauté on medium heat for about 2 minutes. I like to add salt at this point.
  • Next throw in the capsicum, broccoli and green chillies. Mix and sauté for another couple of minutes.
  • Add in the tofu cubes. Next sprinkle some pepper (to taste) and mix well.
  • Add the soy sauce and vinegar and toss all ingredients nicely.
  • You can now add in the chopped spring onions and mix lightly.
  • Cook on low heat for about 5 more minutes.
  • Your stir fry tofu is now ready!
  • Garnish with some finely chopped coriander and serve hot.
