“Use plants to bring life.”
– Douglas Wilson
So true…isn’t it? 🙂
I have a new love, and no it’s not handbags and shoes or makeup this time….it’s a bit different you see – it’s PLANTS! Haha! Yes, plants 🙂
I moved to Mumbai 3 years ago into an apartment and now when I sit & think what’s the one thing I miss the most about the house I grew up in, it’s the garden! All the greenery, lush, beautiful trees and gorgeous plants & flowers…walking bare feet on grass early morning…ah! how I miss all of that.
So I decided to bring a little green life into our home here in Mumbai and the best way to do that was choose easy-to-care-for houseplants….hmphh…well not as easy as it sounds! The first couple of plants I brought in died soon after and it broke my heart every single time 🙁
Little by little I read, watched and learned…and today I have a house full of plants…in every room and every corner… beautiful, healthy, green, lush plants and believe you me – it’s the NICEST feeling in the world to see something grow and flourish as you care for it <3
Enough said, let me show you a few I’m loving at the moment…here is a sneak peek into my cactus plants – the BEST houseplants if you ask me!
Here I have an Aloe Vera plant, a bunch of Haworthia Limifolia Gigantea and a Grafted Cactus.
This baby you see here is one of my absolute favourites in the house. I spotted my big aloe vera plant with this pup jutting out from the side and decided to repot it. Aloe Vera is one of the easiest cacti/succulent to repot, but it only grows from pups or babies. I once tried my hand at propagating an aloe vera using a leaf cutting and NOPE, that does not work!
This is one of my recent cactus plants and isn’t it gorgeous!? I fell in love with it at first sight and knew it would make me happy every time I sat at my desk to work 🙂
The best part was that this one too had two pups that I separated and repotted into small ceramic pots and they are the CUTEST things ever!
And last but not the least is my Grafted Cactus 🙂
This one is probably not to everyone’s taste, but I love it! At first I thought it was a cactus that had a flower, but upon reading more about it I found that this is actually two different species of cacti that are grafted together to make a hybrid…how awesome is that!?
For me this is my most unique houseplant and I can’t wait to see how this grows.
And before we wrap it up, here are a few extras thrown in!
Can’t get enough of this baby cactus!
Thank you all for sticking with me till the end 🙂
I hope this post made your day in whatever small way possible and has inspired you to add a bit of green with plants and specially Cactus in your living space or work space.
These plants are great stress-busters for me and I love starting my day by admiring how well they’re doing in the house… a bit of care and some TLC is all they need and they’ll fill your space with good vibes and a lot of freshness!
Until we meet next lovelies!
xoxo
